Many of the people who need this site most are older adults, often under stress. Accessibility is a design constraint here, not a compliance checkbox.

What we build to

WCAG 2.2 AA as the floor: 18px minimum body text and 4.5:1 minimum text contrast.
Full keyboard operation with a visible focus ring on every interactive element, and a skip link.
Touch targets at least 44 by 44 pixels.
Visible form labels, inline errors announced to assistive technology, and an error summary on submit.
Color is never the only signal — every freshness state carries its date in text.
Layouts that work from 320px phones to 1920px monitors, and honest print output.
Reduced-motion preferences are honored throughout.
