Accessibility
Many of the people who need this site most are older adults, often under stress. Accessibility is a design constraint here, not a compliance checkbox.
What we build to
- WCAG 2.2 AA as the floor: 18px minimum body text and 4.5:1 minimum text contrast.
- Full keyboard operation with a visible focus ring on every interactive element, and a skip link.
- Touch targets at least 44 by 44 pixels.
- Visible form labels, inline errors announced to assistive technology, and an error summary on submit.
- Color is never the only signal — every freshness state carries its date in text.
- Layouts that work from 320px phones to 1920px monitors, and honest print output.
- Reduced-motion preferences are honored throughout.
